Open to Grades: 9-12
Prerequisite: Entrance is by special application only and the desire and motivation to attend a four-year college upon graduation from high school.
UC A-G Certification: Meets the UC a-g [g] Elective requirement with a C or better grade
Description: The AVID elective courses at all grade levels are designed to prepare, in an academic context, students for entrance into four year colleges, with emphasis on analytical writing, preparation for college entrance exams (PSAT, SAT, ACT), college study skills and test taking, note taking, and research. The course features college students who support student learning primarily in small groups in the AVID Elective class during the school day.
